Baby #2 --17 Weeks

I will try to blog a bit about this pregnancy. I am keeping a shutterfly book that I update weekly for this pregnancy.  This pregnancy is SO different. I don't know if I was more sick because I didn't get to rest whenever I had free time because of having Mr. Micah or I was just more sick. Before I found out I was pregnant I was so tired but I figured it was because Micah had just started moving around. My energy has returned which is nice, but I still get tired easily. I am lucky Micah is such a good boy.  This pregnancy is also different because I am smaller in size, which I attribute to why I am showing less then what I was with Micah. It will be fun to see how similar and different these pregnancies will be.

How Far Along: 17 Weeks
How Big is Baby: Size of a turnip / Toilet paper roll
Stretch Marks:  Nothing new. My few marks from Micah had started to fade some too. I am curious if I will get more or if the ones I have will just deepen and stretch.
Weight gain/loss: Back up to my weight where I was when I found out I was pregnant (10lbs less then when I found out I was pregnant with Micah). Morning sickness the past few months had me lose 6lbs.
Maternity clothes:  Early on I dislike pressure on my tummy so I start wearing pants early. I like to full band pants too. I was biggest in winter with Micah and this time I will be biggest in summer, so  I will need to get some more summer items.
Best moment this week:  Showing a bit more. I look forward to that big belly.
Movement:  I have felt baby a few times.
Miss Anything: My energy.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular, carbs are good.
Food Aversions: Chipotle and Chinese
Symptoms: Can feel some ligament stretching. I don't remember feeling the discomfort much with Micah.
Sleep: When I wake up, I find it difficult to go back to sleep. Micah is sick right now so I hear him a lot.
Anything making you queasy or sick: If I don't eat right away in the morning I still will heave.
Gender: Unknown. This time we are not finding out ;)
Looking forward to:  Getting bigger, feeling baby more consistently and stronger, Ultrasound at the end of the month.

6 Months!!!

It amazes me that 6 months have gone by! These 6 months have been the best of my life!! They have not been easy but they have been the best!  I love being a mother and cannot wait for more children.

Micah has rolled over a total of 4-5 times. It is very rare to see.  He does turn himself a round, like the hand on a clock. Drooling started a month ago, when he is sitting up or in his jumper a bib is a must! He has started taking an interest in his toes, touching them and trying to put them into his mouth. His hand eye coordination is very good, he grabs things accurately. He loves to jump and talk while in his jumperoo, he likes to be standing.  Micah loves to watch Mercedes and Benz, he tracks them all around and reaches out to grab them. They both tolerate his touches well.

Micah has not been sleeping as well as he has in the past and I think it is because of his bassinet being too small and not enough room to move around. So 7/22 , last night, the bassinet was removed from our room and Micah slept in his own room. I don't like the idea of him being in his room, because I have read how beneficial it is for them to be in the same room as parents: they can hear parents breathing which helps them feel secure and also helps their own breathing (decrease risk of SIDS) I really like being able to lean over and see him. I sure did not sleep very well, every noise on the monitor I would wake and have to check it. He also woke up several times. I am tired today. I think daddy will be needing to help out at night if this continues.

I have not been very good at taking "nice" pictures of him. I made an attempt today :)  I look forward to when he can sit up independently.

Baby Led Weaning:
I had heard a little bit about baby led weaning and I was curious. To start I read the book below, joined a facebook group, searched online for information and then watched videos of baby's actually doing it. After researching I felt very confident this was what I wanted to do...Nathan (and others) were not too sure about this. Like most he was worried about choking.

This website was also helpful. http://www.babyledweaning.com/some-tips-to-get-you-started/
"The key difference between BLW and traditional weaning, when you think about it, is in the order that children learn to eat. With a puree, they learn to swallow first and then chew, which works fine until they meet a lump. With BLW, the babies learn to chew first and swallowing might come some time later."   **Sure seems logical to me**

7/22/14 Micah ate his first food, other then breast milk. Well, I think he swallowed a piece or two ;)  (food before one is just for fun).  He had sweet potatoes and avocado. he seemed to enjoy the sweet potato, not so much the avocado. He did really good coughing / gaging when larger pieces went to far back.

Weeks 16-20

I have not been good at keeping up with the blog, I have been updating the shutterfly book  i am making documenting each week and I have not found much time to blog. Working and being a parent is really hard. All I want to do is spend time with precious baby!

Celebrated Mother's Day! It was a busy weekend! Micah has been turning onto his side more but quickly falls to his back again. We found out Micah is going to have a cousin in December, Taylor and Elise are expecting a baby.

This week Micah was dedicated! It was amazing to have friends and family join us on this special day!  Micah giggled for the first time...such a beautiful sound. He is also starting to "talk" more. Micah also slept through the night three nights in a row!!! He is such a good sleeper!

May 22nd 2014

15lbs( 53 percentile), 26 inches long (80 percentile) and head is 41 cm (23 percentile).

Micah giggles when his neck is kissed.  5/23/14 Micah rolled over while at Sarah's house.  Jennifer took some mommy and Micah pictures :) love my little guy.

Micah is getting stronger, he is sitting up in his bumbo and likes to sit on laps. At church he was sitting on my lap and fell asleep ;) We broke out the jumperoo this week, he just kinda sits in it.

Micah has been either getting up once at night or not at all. I feel so lucky to have such a good sleeper.   We have had a lot more giggles these days. He likes when I zoom close to his face and kiss his neck while my hair brushes his face. Micah also likes to take baths in the big tub with mommy since he can kick and splash etc. I think he is getting close to outgrowing his bassinet, which makes me sad because then he will have to sleep in his room. I am not ready for him to leave my room. On a happy note, I am 2lbs under my before pregnancy weight :)

Had a great day shopping with my little man!

14 and 15 Weeks

I am two pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight- YAY! I am going to pump forever!! It is the end of my third week back to work. I am less sad having to leave him to go to work but I still don't like the added stress of working :( I am just exhausted these days and my house is a MESS!!!

Blow outs have started...Arg! They all have occurred when daddy has been gone...lucky him.
This past week Micah slept two hours at home in his swing.  I couldn't believe it! Micah is better at grasping and holding things, especially his ball. This week he is also starting to try to turn on his side.

sucking his thumb
This past week Micah started to refuse taking his bottle from anyone. HOWEVER, Thursday SARAH got him to take it. She put him in the boppy and eventually he took it! I wonder if he was associating being held with breastfeeding and only then wanted the breast.

I am excited to celebrate my FIRST Mother's Day!! I have been waiting for this for so long!! Nathan better do something good ;)

I had been waiting and waiting for him to fit into this. Jennifer had gotten this for us while I was pregnant and I couldn't wait to put him in it.

Took a few pictures of him at 15 weeks
