13 Weeks

I avoided thinking about going back to work until I HAD to....Monday morning. This week I have had a lot of mixed emotions. I felt sad for leaving my baby, angry for having to go back to work, excited to get out of the house, and dreading to be working and dealing with other peoples' problems / stress. The most difficult part is when I go to drop him off, the drive there is when I start to cry. I trust completely leaving him with my mom and Sarah, I just hate having to leave him in general.

Micah has a great personality! He smiles all the time!!! I cant wait for a giggle to come out (I think we are close)! We are working on tummy time even though he only lasts a few minutes before screaming. I am not going to let my baby "cry it out."

We had a great Easter! It was fun to get outside with Mr. Micah!

Matching outfits!!! No we didn't plan this ;)
Loves blankets to "eat"

 Nice day for a walk

12 Weeks / 3 months

Here it is!! My little boy is 12 weeks!! Time sure has gone by quickly. It has been such a blessing watching him grow and change these last few months. It still blows my mind he was inside me only three months ago.  Monday I head back to work :( Thankfully my cousin Sarah will be watching him -I feel so lucky!! I am enjoying this last week home! We are looking forward to Micah's first holiday -EASTER!

  • Micah weighs 15.4 lbs as of today.
  • Smiles all the time.
  • Loves taking baths with mommy.
  • I think he might be growing because he has been waking up more at night the last few days. Change in his sleep pattern is hard on mommy.
  • Doing better lifting his head up. Mommy is not good at doing tummy time :( his doctor said not too worry his head looked good and his neck muscles were fine.
  • Went to his first birthday party.

Fun at Mila's First Birthday Party!!

11 Weeks

A week and a half left before I start back to work :( this is going to be a hard transition. Next week I'm going to stay home and snuggle and love on my baby because it will be my last week where I can focus just on him. This will be the last week I get to care for one baby. I will never get this precious time back, he will never be this small again. Next baby it will be different, Micah will be running around too!

This past week:
-First trip to moa, we went to find an outfit for Micah for Mila's birthday party / Easter.
-Has found the tv...Turns head towards it.
-Sleep: He eats around 9/10:30 and sleeps till 4/5am.
-Micah does not sleep during the day much, unless he his being held
-Grabs Aden and Anais blanket and puts it in his mouth.

Last night, Wednesday, Nathan and I went on a date. It was SO hard to drop off Micah (at my parents) before we left. It reminded me that I would be leaving him shortly. I hated the feeling :(  I was sad and thinking about leaving him soon which ruined the date.

Young living
I signed up to be a wholesale member where I can get 24% off purchases. My goal is to replace our medicine cabinet with a natural alternative.  When I signed up I purchased the Premium Starter Kit and am loving the oils and diffuser! Below is how I have used my oils in the past week since I received them.

On Micah:
Lavender + coconut oil for cradle cap: started Saturday and by Monday flakes diminished immensely!
Rc +peppermint + lemon in diffuser to help w congestion/ mucus.
Rc +oil on feet and chest for congestion in mornings and evenings. He breathes easier/clearer after .
Digize +oil to help w gas. First application he farted a little, second gas exploded out of him :)

Me:
Lemon thieves in hot water for sore throat
lemon + peppermint + lavender w honey on spoon for allergies & w/o honey on neck.
Had blister on toe, I applied purification before bed. I felt instant soothing . When I woke most of discomfort was gone forgot I had a booster.. Night before it hurt to walk on it and felt I was limping.

9 & 10 Weeks

Another 2 weeks have gone by! Not much new going on. Micah has been sucking on his hands and arms more starting at week 9.
Mommy's Boy: Micah is defiantly a mommy's boy, which makes sense since I am with him all the time. I love how I can soothe him (the best) but it also means I don't much of a break. Daddy does a good job with Micah but he mostly just wants me.

Gas: Micah gets very gassy after he has been in the car for more then an hour. Which means he is uncomfortable and fussy. He then wants to lay on the floor or be held upright so he is not squished. We have been using gripe water.

YL: I signed up and placed an order w Young Living essential oils. I am looking forward to using them to help with Micah's gas, help prevent and treat colds, and to help sleep and sooth. They should be arriving Thursday!

Movement: His new thing is when we hold him is for us to stand and walk around-he likes to be moving. This might be due to all the car trips in the last few weeks..he may be used to being lulled that way.

Sleep: During the day he doesn't stay asleep when put down in his crib or rocker. I enjoy holding and snuggling him which may be why. I figure he is only little once and I want to hold and snuggle him as much as I can...you cant spoil a baby and patterns can be broken later. I mainly don't want others who watch him when I go back to work to have a tough time.
I am trying to find a way to help Micah fall asleep or stay asleep when put in his crib etc with out letting him "cry it out." I don't want Micah to feel abandoned.  The approach I am thinking to try is when baby cries pick up soothe baby then place baby back in crib and do this each time. I realize I could be doing this many times initially.  Have any tips / suggestions?
I have been  trying to see if there is a pattern to his sleeping schedule. Some nights he is up every two hours and some nights he sleeps 4-5 hours straight. From what I can tell the more protein I eat the better he sleeps.  I am trying to make sure I am eating enough. Last two weeks he has been sleeping great!
