33 Weeks!

How Far Along: 33 Weeks / 7 weeks left till due date!

He He  :)
7 weeks left of growth, I don't know how I will move / function.

How big is baby:  This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark (about the size of a pineapple).

This week's big developments: He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. during infancy and childhood.
  • He's keeping his eyes open while awake.
  • He's also starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing.
  •

My Body:  As your baby fills out even more of your belly, lots of things might start to change: Whereas before you were sashaying, you may find yourself waddling. Finding an easy position to sit in — let alone sleep — is becoming more of a challenge. And bumping into chairs and counters is par for the course.

Stretch Marks:  Nothing new this week.
Weight gain/loss: Have not been on scale this week
Maternity clothes:  Ordered a top this morning (black Friday) to possibly wear for our maternity pictures.
Best moment this week:  Thanksgiving with family! Spent Thanksgiving day with my family and will spend Saturday with Nathan's. This is our last Thanksgiving just us! Next year the holidays will be even more special! As we were black Friday shopping I realized next year our shopping for deals will include kid stuff like toys. It will be so fun shopping for him next year for Christmas.

Movement: He moves mostly when I am laying down.
Miss Anything: NOT FEELING EXHAUSTED! I really want some wine! I have seen it on tv and it makes me want it. Of course I will not have a drop while this little guy is in me.
Food cravings: Breakfast food. Really loving the turkey and potatoes at the dinner table for Thanksgiving.
Symptoms:  I am easily TIRED after a few tasks. I am feeling more emotional again :( Yesterday I felt like I could cry at the drop of a hat. I think I typically get emotional around the holidays but this was bad.
Sleep: it is hard to get comfortable...some nights I use my body pillow other nights I don't.  Every night I have to take a bath to soak my legs, they are getting more sore, not really swelling yet though.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
    Gender: BOY!!!
Looking forward to:  OB on Thursday, every other week appointments.

    IKEA shelf set up
Spot to put rocker (when we find one)
Getting things organized on changing table
Outfits for baby boy's hospital bag

    32 Weeks / 8 Months!

How Far Along: 32 Weeks / 8 Months

I cannot believe we have reached this point already and at the same time "it's about time."  Two more months till our due date. I know due date is just an estimate but it still gives some kind of a time line, which I like. Each week that passes means one closer to meeting our baby boy.

How big is baby:  By now, your baby weighs 3 3/4 pounds (about the size of a squash) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb.
*WOW* I can only imagine how much my belly is going to grow over the next two months.

This week's big developments: He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

My Body:  To accommodate you and your baby's growing needs, your blood volume has increased 40 to 50 percent since you got pregnant. With your uterus pushing up near your diaphragm and crowding your stomach, the consequences may be shortness of breath and heartburn. To help relieve your discomfort, try sleeping propped up with pillows and eating smaller meals more often.
    * I have had some reflux and realize I need to eat smaller meals now.

Stretch Marks:  My belly skin has become very itchy, which leads me to believe that my skin is going to stretching especially since we will be gaining about a pound a week over the next 7 weeks.
Weight gain/loss: At Doctor Appointment Thursday weighed 191 up total of 31 pounds, 6 since last month. It is so weird I have never weighed this much in my entire life. The doctor said weight looks good and is not concerned.
Maternity clothes:  Purchased a sweater type top (below) to possibly wear for our maternity pictures next month. I need to figure out what to wear!

Best moment this week:  Doctor appointment, baby is still head down which is good!
Movement: He has been moving a lot!! this week, while in a work meeting my belly was contorting like crazy. He likes to lay on my side, so my tummy feels lop sided and really firm. He is running out of space so his movements don't always feel good.
    Miss Anything: NOT FEELING EXHAUSTED!
Food cravings: Nothing in particular this week.
Symptoms:  I am easily TIRED after a few tasks. I am feeling more emotional again :(
Sleep: it is hard to get comfortable...some nights I use my body pillow other nights I don't. one night I slept in our spare bedroom.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
    Gender: BOY!!!
Looking forward to: TAKING MY MFT NATIONAL EXAM SATURDAY (TOMORROW)!!!!

I had a coupon at Babies R Us so we purchased the infant car seat! I put the bundle blanket in it so it will be ready to go. Now we just need to install the base (mirror) in the car. I need to figure out what side to have the seat on. I like the idea of having him behind the drivers seat so I don't have to walk around the car to put him in and take him out. However I have heard from others that it is easier to reach and see baby if they are on the passenger side. So we will have to try out both.

    31 Weeks!!

How Far Along: 31 Weeks / one week away from 8 months  / 9 weeks till due date! Baby will be here before we know it!! I am glad I have the holidays to distract me.

How big is baby:  This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3 1/3 pounds (about the size of a coconut) and is heading into a growth spurt.

This week's big developments: He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy

My Body:  Have you noticed the muscles in your uterus tightening now and then? Many women feel these random contractions — called Braxton Hicks contractions — in the second half of pregnancy. Often lasting about 30 seconds, they're irregular, and at this point, they should be infrequent and painless. I have not noticed anything.
You may have noticed some leaking of colostrum, or "premilk," from your breasts lately. I have not had any leaking.

Stretch Marks:  I noticed this week on my side / hip I have a few little marks appearing :(
Weight gain/loss: Didn't weigh myself this week
    Maternity clothes:  Nothing new
Best moment this week:  Getting started on the nursery!
Movement: He has been moving a lot!! Today, while in a work meeting my belly was contorting like crazy. He likes to lay on my right side, so my tummy feels lop sided and really firm.
    Miss Anything: NOT FEELING EXHAUSTED!
Food cravings: side salad w French from McDonalds. It is funny how every month or sometimes every week the cravings change.
Symptoms:  I am easily TIRED after a few tasks. I am feeling more emotional again :(
Sleep: Some days good others not good. I need my down time each day because I have been tired. Baby moves a lot at night.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing
    Gender: BOY!!!
Looking forward to: This Thursday, I see the OB, and then my appointments go to every other week.

Started working on the nursery this week. I have not done a lot because I am trying to use my spare time to study for my MFT exam I take next Saturday / resting. However, I did wash clothes and put them in the dresser. I need to get some baskets to organize things on the changing table, put things on the walls, get a rug, and find something to help organize the closet.

    30 Weeks!

How Far Along: 30 Weeks / 10 more weeks till due date

How big is baby:  Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now and weighs almost 3 pounds (about the size of a large cabbage).

This week's big developments:  A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will shrink as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

My Body:  You may be feeling a little tired these days, especially if you're having trouble sleeping. You might also feel clumsier than normal, which is perfectly understandable. Not only are you heavier, but the concentration of weight in your pregnant belly causes a shift in your center of gravity. Plus, thanks to hormonal changes, your ligaments are more lax, so your joints are looser, which may also contribute to your balance being a bit off.

Weight gain/loss: I weighed myself and I am the same as I was a few weeks ago at my doctor appointment.
Maternity clothes:  Got my tops in the mail yesterday :)
Best moment this week: Had a wonderful shower thrown by my friends Angie and Jennifer!!!

Benz Checking out the gifts :)

Movement: He has been moving a lot!! He has found my ribs!!!!
    Miss Anything: NOT FEELING EXHAUSTED!
    Food cravings: Hot Chocolate
Symptoms:  Lower back sore, hard to sit without getting uncomfortable quickly. Restless legs have been acting up this week too! I am easily TIRED after a few tasks.
Sleep: Some days good others not good. I need my down time each day because I have been tired.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not sure this week
    Gender: BOY!!!
Looking forward to: THIS is the weekend baby room gets cleared out. I thought it was last but got my weekends mixed up. Finally get to start putting the nursery together which is nice because baby stuff is stored in several other rooms in the house.

    29 Weeks!

How Far Along: 29 Weeks! 77 days/ 11weeks to go!

How big is baby:  Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (about the size of a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel.

This week's big developments:  His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice).

My Body:  Some old friends — heartburn and constipation — may take center stage now. The pregnancy hormone progesterone relaxes smooth muscle tissue throughout your body, including your gastrointestinal tract. This relaxation, coupled with the crowding in your abdomen, slows digestion. Sluggish digestion can cause gas and heartburn — especially after a big meal — and contribute to constipation.

Weight gain/loss: Didn't weigh myself this week.
Maternity clothes:  Ordered some tops online.
Best moment this week: Nathan freely and often touching my belly and talking to baby boy!
Movement: He has been a bit suborn this week when other people want to feel him move, silly boy.
Miss Anything: Being able to get comfortable easily. Getting up from sitting is not as easy as before. I was sitting with Nathan on the couch and needed to get up and I had to ask him for a push.
    Food cravings: Hot Chocolate
Symptoms:  Lower back sore, hard to sit without getting uncomfortable quickly. Restless legs have been acting up this week too!
Sleep: Some days good others not good. I need my down time each day because I have been tired.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Cigarette smoke, I felt very ill after being in a home of smokers (not currently smoking while I was there).
    Gender: BOY!!!
Looking forward to:  Friend shower this weekend! Last shower and then we know what is left for us to purchase for our little one. This weekend is the deadline for Nathan to get his stuff out of the nursery space.
Dream: I dreamt that the hospital I switched to didn't let me do anything I wanted while I was in labor and the midwife I originally saw, from another hospital, came and rescued me to have the birth I wanted.

    Happy Halloween

    Hawes Family Shower:

I cant wait to dress him up--so many cute outfits!
